Physical Design Engineer - Frontend

Responsibilities and Opportunities

• Implement physical design (RTL to GDS) processes to achieve the best PPA
• Conduct logic synthesis with/without physical-awareness, clock-gating insertion, and feasibility checks for new architectures
• Check logic equivalence and perform FECO (function ECO) 
• Perform STA and simulation to optimize logic and overall design
• Manage setup/hold timing sign-off include logic DR (design rule) fix
• Estimate power consumption and work on PPA optimization, including PVT adjustments
• Propose architectural changes to enhance design QoR (quality of result) from a logical point of view
• Support DSPs and/or contractors to meet TAT while ensuring high-quality results

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 8-year experience with EDA tool workflows in the semiconductor industry
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Tcl, Perl, or Python) for workflow automation and data visualization
• Extensive experience in physical design processes and tools for automating RTL to GDS workflows
• A high understanding of the In-Place-Optimization during ECO
• Experience leading one or more aspects of physical implementation
• Experience in extraction of design parameters, summarizing Quality of Results (QoR), and analyzing trends to improve QoR
